Weight Watchers Point System: What is it?

Posted By admin on September 9, 2011

Weight Watchers Online uses a point system called the Point Plus, which uses points to calculate how many calories you consume in a day, and then that is added up to how many you consumed in a week. The Points system has been around since 1997, but recently the name was changed to the Points Plus program. The focus is to eat more filling foods in less quantity so that you can eat a good portion of food without feeling over-stuffed or like you haven’t eaten enough. It focuses on the amount of calories one should consume in a day, and every food and beverage has its calories transferred into points.

This new Points Plus system has improved and not only based the points on calories, but also protein, carbohydrates, fat, and fiber, so to add up points correctly one must add these to the equation. Most vegetables and fruits have zero points according to the system, so there is no limit on how many fruits or vegetables you can eat within a day.
